Attention humans

I Find myself wondering more and more how we as human creatures can be so oblivious to how our actions effect those around us. I'm not talking life decisions that we have to make regardless of who favors them, I'm talking the simple things, the basics.

Leaving your grocery cart in the middle of the aisle while you browse for cereals would be an example. People are skiddig the wheels on their carts to get by and coughing "excuse me" as they scrape by. REALLY? Are we so cought up in soup and cereal that we can't see the other humans? Are we so concerned with only our own needs that we can't sense, hear or see their irritation? I don't get it.

What about driving the speed limit or less in the fast lane? Some people won't move over out of some principle of pride, others just want to take it upon themselves to enforce the law and some are just plain oblivious, not using mirrors.

How about yacking on your cell phone in a quiet, public place? Better yet, SWEARING on your cell phone, or at all publicly, there are minor exceptions, such as bars or high peressure sporting events, even so, still not classy.

When will politicians start addressing real issues like this?

Visions of greatness

What does it mean to be a good person? This seems like such a simple question.
Do we all create our own image of what we think makes up a good person, based on our own desires of who we would like to be? The ultimate version of ourselves, the way we wish others would, or someday will, view us. Do we project this upon others and expect these personally unachieved, dreamt up visions of greatness of others? We all do it. Next time we mount our high horse, let us not forget.

Letter to Tobi

Dear Tobi,

I am writing to let you know how excited we are to have you join our zoo ***errrr FAMILY! When we bring you home you will not be lonely, not only will you have Kath and Myself to love you to pieces, you will have two cats to torment and a BIG brother, Duke, to look up to. He is just like you, an English Lab, and he may seem a little narcissistic, but he is a humble sweetie at heart. I'm sure he will share his toys with you, but look out for pig baby, that may be off limits.

We are a pretty laid back group....we love our summer days around here. We really enjoy spending our days out back by the pool, sipping margaritas and soaking up the sun. You will not be allowed in the pool, but you and Duke have your very own pool to play in. We also take a lot of trips over by the power plant to go for walks and throw the ball for Duke, he will teach you what that's all about. You will have an auntie and uncle living just next door to look out for you and play with. Lilly and Shadow will accompany you on many walks and lots of front yard playtime.

There are so many new and exciting things for you to discover when you come to live with us, best of all, we will give you all of our love, and Duke will too, can't promise anything for the cats.

Love,

abby

april fool

Well, apparently I'm the Aprils' Fool.....

I am such a klutz with expensive things. I tend to be a little klutzy in general, but get me around something valuable or something with a lithium battery and all bets are off. I'm likely to; spill a drink on, trip over, bump up against, trip on the chord, bump from your hand, or more likely than any...DROP!

3 very expensive things that I own have been all but completely demolished by my foolishness. The first being my blackberry. Thank heavens for the big, bouncy rubber case that it's wrapped in, otherwise I would have had to replace the thing several dozen times by now, I am forever dropping it. Second item on the list; my 2T hard drive....the ol' champ, Ugh....twice have I tripped on its chord and sent it crashing to the ground from a height of at least 2.5 feet, no less! Lastly...and worst of all....my classic pride and joy 120GB Ipod...the Black Panther....*sobs* I dropped her for what may have been the last time the other day, now she is a sputtering mess and can barely communicate with itunes....so far I can't get her to stay stable for more than a day....she is a mess. **sobs!!!!!

I won't even get into the story of how I threw my cell phone out the window on 75 or how I dropped my ipod nano on the side of the 401 before it was repeatedly mowed over by semi trucks....ugh.

Needless to say, keep me away from your expensive technology.....and anything else you value, ESPECIALLY if I am carrying a drink.

At least I'm not as bad as my neighbors who repeatedly back into their own cars in their driveway....not yet at least.

Sobs
